Description

A minty and soothing floral blend to help ease the digestive flow. Organic loose leaf tea, 55g, created by social enterprise TeaGood. Peppermint: is one of the most known plants for easing the digestive system. Its leaves contain compound essential oils including menthol, menthone and limonene which may help to relax digestive muscles, relieve intestinal colic and flatulence, support digestion and may relieve certain types of headaches. Rose Petals: have been used for centuries in the Middle East to help improve digestion and soothe the uncomfortable stomach. Rose petals have a mild laxative effect that can help to ease the digestive flow and have been known as a herbal remedy for preventing constipation and diarrhea. They also contain pectin that may help bind with fat and cholesterol in the intestines removing them before they are absorbed. Juniper Berries: Ancient Greek and Native Americans used juniper berries for digestion concerns including upset stomach, heartburn, bloating, loss of appetite, as well as gastrointestinal infections. Juniper Berries contain bitter compounds that regulate digestion by stimulating bile flow and boosting the production of stomach acid secretions and digestive enzymes. Orange Peel: in Chinese Medicine theory bitters ingredients like orange peel tend to have a cleansing action on the body by clearing heat, drying dampness and promoting elimination via kidneys/urination or bowel movements. Orange peel is rich in copper, calcium, magnesium, folate, vitamins A and B, and dietary fibre that help to stimulate the digestive system, improve the absorption of nutrients from the food, fight acidity and may promote fat burn. Caraway Seeds: have been known since antiquity. In fact, caraway remains one of the oldest herbs and medicinal plants. During the Middle Ages, people consumed caraway as a digestive aid after a big feast to prevent bloating and other digestive issues. In Germany, caraway has a long tradition as the best herbal remedy for dyspepsia (indigestion) and intestinal cramps. The nutrients in the seeds stimulate the secretion of gastric juices, improving the circulation of blood and intestinal mucus through the stomach. This helps to regulate bowel movements, relieve digestive cramping and spasms, prevent bloating and flatulence.
