Naturopathic tips for staying healthy over Christmas

Christmas is a time of joy and connection, and as we are nearing the end of this eventful, there’s no doubt that we’re all excited to get SOCIAL!

It’s easy to fall into the trap of fast pace and high stress leading up to Christmas… Getting manic about all that needs to be organized and feeling stressed about the financial demands. This generally leads into poor lifestyle habits, poor food choices and exhaustion.

We’ve got a few tips to help keep you on track over this period:

Clear your mind each morning

We suggest starting your day with a 15 minute meditation or yoga and stretching, this will allow you to clear your mind and feel more centered for the rest of the day.

Maintain your exercise

It can be a struggle to fit in all the social activities as well as exercise, but setting aside 30 minutes a day, even if it’s a nice walk out in nature, will keep your body moving and your overall energy levels will improve.

Start your day with a n犀利士 ourishing smoothie

When you begin your day with a healthy and nourishing meal, it sets good intentions for your day ahead.  For an easy go-to breakfast throughout this period, we love a nourishing and refreshing smoothie. It’s super quick to make and will keep your belly full for hours! Here’s a delicious combination that will ensure you’re getting a good nutrition boost.

    • Papaya
Papaya is very high in vitamin C and is especially beneficial to eat during times of eating rich protein dense foods, due to its high enzyme content.

    • Spinach
Spinach is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and is particularly high in many of the B vitamins, as well as precious minerals such as magnesium to keep our nervous systems relaxed.

    • Orange
Orange as we know is high Vitamin C, and of course will make this smoothie more palatable.

    • Avocado
Avocado provides the precious fatty content which is essential to slow down the absorption of fruit sugars and prevent us blood sugar peaking and dropping.

    • 2 tbsp Hemp protein powder
This is a clean protein powder packed with magnesium, zinc and iron, which are all the minerals we utilize in the stress response, so they are essential for keeping us relaxed, oxygenation (energized) and preventing us from falling sick.

Don’t forget to take a moment to breathe, relax and above all, enjoy the long-awaited mayhem with your beloved friends and family!
